MSS40316 CERTIFICATE IV IN COMPETITIVE SYSTEMS AND PRACTICES

The aim of “Competitive Systems and Practices” or “Lean” is to design working systems to minimize waste of materials, time, and effort in order to generate the maximum possible amount of value.

The program is structured in two streams (that run concurrently):

Off-the-Job component: Participants will attend training at our training facility in the evening (weekly 5 hr blocks)

On-the-Job: The on-site material is aligned to the day-to-day management of the site that the supervisor is currently managing whereby we would conduct monthly training on site a day or half day per month over 5-10 days (negotiable) which would

involve gathering your supervisors onto a site and provide training. The next month the training is rotated to one of the other sites.

Benefit: the learners get to see how things are managed first- hand at different Type/ scale projects.

Assessment Methods:

  • Theory & knowledge assessments
  • Case studies
  • Practical exercises
  • Project Work
  • Workplace observations
  • Workplace Supervisors’ reports

Resources Provided: Learning resources will be provided including; training manuals, powerpoint presentations, You-tube clips webinars etc.

Induction: Trainees will be introduced to the course, delivery and assessment methods, and expectations and rights of trainees prior to course commencement.

All trainees are expected to comply with worksite WHS procedures and policies during practical activities.  Safety procedures in the classroom will be explained at the commencement of the course.
